Program: Tom Barringer, Struthers Rotary

Struthers Rotarian Tom Barringer attended the Tuesday, Sept. 13, meeting of the Boardman Rotary to discuss the Struthers Club's development of a Rotary Community Core.

An auxiliary-like organization, the Rotary Community Core allows prospective members that cannot join the club due to work requirements and restrictions participate in volunteering and other events with the Rotary club. The group of approximately 10 people has no financial obligation to the club, but participates by helping to sell tickets, volunteer at regular events and do a few of their own projects and fundraisers. The group has been in place for approximately a year.
