Program: Mason Carratt, American Food Forest
Representatives of the American Food Forest, Youngstown Inner City Gardens and Tent City gave an update on the programs since Mason Carratt last presented to the group. 
 
Out of the previous group of homeless in Tent City, only three are currently residing in the camp along the river. They have also helped develop two more camps on the south and north sides. They also help provide outreach to over 175 individuals in Mahoning and Trumbull Counties over the holidays. They are currently working with veterans on providing housing Campbell and other areas.

Have about 100 goodies laying around that you want to share with future leaders? Great! See Ken Goldsboro about how you can donate these to RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Academy). Anything from key chains to water bottles is welcome. Just remember to steer clear of sugary snacks and caffeinated drinks.

Literacy Projects
Deb Liptak presented two opportunities to participate in literacy projects around the community. 
 
Project MORE at Market Street Elementary is a hands-on literacy project that requires one hour of mentoring and tutoring special needs children. There will be two training sessions: Jan. 13 at 9 a.m. and Jan. 14 at 6 p.m. The project will last through the school year.  
 
Little Free Library:will be built and installed by Boardman Park. Volunteers are needed to monitor the library. Volunteers would check the box regularly to assure that books are always stocked in the little free library, and that all content is appropriate for all ages.
