The Youngstown Air Reserve Station is preparing to welcome thousands this weekend when they host the 2014 Thunder Over the Valley Air Show, said Holly Baker of the Base Civilian Council. 
 
As part of Armed Forces week, the event, which will be held Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, will feature displays, ground exhibits and plenty of air show demonstrations for the whole family to enjoy. Admission is free. Parking is not provided on location, but plenty of satellite parking lots are available.

Salvation Army Annual Civic Dinner
The Salvation Army of the Mahoning County is honoring the Boardman Rotary for its outstanding commitment to service and the community. The event will be held on Wednesday, May 14 at 5:30 p.m. at The Lake Club in Poland. The club has agreed to purchase one table at a cost of $500 at the dinner. Single tickets are also available at a cost of $70 per ticket.
